Who designs this stuff? Drains

I figure easy peasy, remove the little holes for a straight bore cockpit drain system. Small 5.5mm holes clog too easy and don't drain the cockpit fast. So, what do I find? A robust welded 6mm drain assembly. 13 X 5.5mm holes feeding the 46mm ID tail pipe? I get the effectiveness of 16mm drain!

Re: Who designs this stuff? Drains

A big drillbit should do the trick. Use the center hole as a starter. Perhaps just enlarging some of the holes would be enough, because you don't want stuff to get stuck halfway down the drain hose, but I've ended up removing my screens entirely because they get clogged when I need them the most.

WTF

I looked at the first two pictures and thought you were talking about a sink drain. Somebody actually thought that this made sense for a cockpit drain???
