Type IV Cracks

If I have a ring bouy PFD that have some surface cracking can I restore it with some kind of paint?
If yes, what kind?
If no please state reasons.

New bouy will cost you 20 bucks. Paint for a old one 35 bucks. Buy a bunch of floating type 4 devices. Does not have to be ring bouy.

I hate the "seat cushion" style.

Then buy a ring bouy or life sling. Not sure whys you hate them?

No good reason.
Just aesthetics.
I have a hook on my rail that's screaming at me to hang a type IV back on it.
