Tartan 3000 restoration

I am acquiring a 30' tartan 3000 from my father. It has been a landyacht for the past 17 years and has had water in the cabin throughout the years so I need to do a full cabin restore meaning wood, bedding, flooring(minus the fiberglass), and anything else that has been damaged. Any suggestion on where to start?

The boat was damaged during the no name storm of 92' in northport harbor. The rigging was ripped out and a hole put in the side. The fiberglass work was done properly and it has the rigging from a 35' boat. I got sails from a freind whos 33' boat sunk and he gave me the sails for free. Any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks
Eric

Re: Tartan 3000 restoration

The mast is off a frers 33, the sails are from the tartan 30. My tartan is from 1982, hull no. 30. Name from the original owner is whimbrel.

The shore power works and the motor still turns over thankfully.

Changing all the cockpit drain hoses, sewage hoses, checking hoses attached to seacocks. replacing two seacocks and rebuilding one.

borrowing two freestanding supports to replace the rotted rear craddle supports.

I found an apelco loran/gps 6400. I have the loran antenna, Does loran still work? if not should i purchase a gps sensor for it or a current gps unit? I thought maybe the sensor would be better because it is a larger antenna than units with built in antennas?

That Loran unit makes a nice door block ; -)

No Loran for years now.
