submersible vs non-submersible bilge pump

I belong to the school that believes you can't have too many big bilge pumps. I have two Rule 3500's, one in the forward cabin bilge, one aft. I also have a smaller one in the engine compartment, and the wiring and switches installed for each of the two floats. That's just for the electrics, then there are the Whale 10's built-in, and the Whale 25 mounted on a plywood base with a handle. And my boat wouldn't sink if none of them worked. Go figure.
