Salon Bench Removal

My wife and I recently purchased a 2014 Lagoon 380 (our first boat). We have two German Shepherd dogs and would like to remove the bench seat in the salon to make more room for them. I've seen YouTube videos where the bench has been taken out but no how-to videos. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove it. Thank you!

Re: Salon Bench Removal

Disclaimer: I have no experience with that particular boat.

From the plans it does not appear that the front vertical, the part you kick with your heels when seated or the seat itself of the curved salon bench serves any structural purpose. You should be free to cut it away with a reciprocating saw. Do watch for anything that looks structural in the process. Once it's out of the way, I'd suggest foam in the bottom and covering the bottom and the back with vinyl coated cloth that will be easy to wipe down and vacuum. It should be a very comfy nest for the pooches. Good luck with it.
