Replacing a Deck Hatch

I will be replacing my deck hatch in a few weeks.
5200? - I say "NO"
4200? - I think so.
What would you use for caulking?

Re: Replacing a Deck Hatch

When I replaced my forehatch the original butyl seal between the deck and hatch was perfect after 35 years. The hatch itself was falling apart but the butyl on the hatch as well as all my original deck fittings is in great condition and leak free.

5200 is only necessary if you do not plan on fastenings. If there are fastenings you want to keep water out, not glue it to the deck permanently.
