Portlight intrigue

Alright, l have butyl-bedded Lexan
portlights, with aluminum frames.
I've discovered a couple spots that weep during downpours. I'm tempted to lay down a beauty bead of silicone as a temporary measure just until I've time to do it right with more butyl tape. I know using silicone on a boat is no place for this type of repair, but nothing else I know of sticks to polycarbonate. My question is,
what do I use to get rid of silicone residue once I pull it?

Thanks, people.

Re: Portlight intrigue

I would recommend the DOW 791 sealant that I found very effective on polycarbonate. Look in the forum "Construct, Maintenance, refit" for my post "New portlights for my 1973 Morgan" to see an application. As I recall, denatured alcohol was the solvent best for removal.
