The lacquer will never adhere properly due to UV, moisture and salt air. Rinse your stainless as much as possible as Cheech said, keep the stainless polished and treat weldments/scratches with Ospho. We also would wipe our boat's stainless after every rain or in the morning when freshwater dew settles on the boat. The farther South you travel. the greater the salinity. Good luck and safe sailing.
