Need a current Southern California Boatyard recommendation

The boatyard I used I the past stopped letting owners do some of their own work due to environmental regulations. My 1980 30' islander has blisters (pox) and I was going grind out the blister and epoxy them up like I did 5 years ago... Now I need a boatyard that will let me do my own work or?

I am considering going down to Baja Navel and paying $5k to strip, let dry out for one month, barrier coat and bottom paint. Any suggestions?

BTW how long does an epoxy barrier coat last? PO had it done in the 90'.

I had work done at Koehler Kraft Boat Yard,
Address: 2302 Shelter Island Dr, San Diego, CA 92106
Phone:(619) 222-9051
They have DIY and were very accomidating.
I will go back in about 2 years.

In San Diego, there's the afore mentioned Koehler's as well as Driscoll's Mission Bay that allow DIY work. I beleive they both charge $3 a foot per day for the priviledge. Unless you get something like 8 hours of billable labor done a day by them.

$90 a day to do your own work.

Just checked DMB website. If you plan to be there a month it's $2.50/ft/day on the lay days. $2250 for the month of drying out.

Try Windward in Marina Del Ray. They used to allow/do this.
