Naval Architects

Would anyone be able to point me to a designer that could help me generate plans for a costum boat I want to build? It would be beneficial if they were Canadian or had good knowledge of Canadian weather/winters.

Thanks in advance for any and all help

Re: Naval Architects

I've worked with a few naval architects in Canada. What kind of boat are we talking about?

Re: Naval Architects

wood primarily, most likely with a thin fiberglass coat over the hull. and something in the cruiser/racer category and definately able to do ocean crossing with reasonable comfort.

similar design the Discovery Yacht's 58' monohull (for comparison )

Re: Naval Architects

Bob Perry comes to mind. He is out of Washington state and has a pretty exhaustive list of custom designs. If I was doing a one off build he is probably the first person I would call.

Re: Naval Architects

Check with Mike Gozzard in Goderich, ON. He might be interested in the challenge.
