Hard Dodger Bolt Rope Track

I am trying to source this style of bolt rope track. It was used on the factory hard dodgers produced by Valiant

Repeated emails to Valiant have gone unanswered. I know they are no longer producing boats but according to their website they are still doing repair/refit work.

This type of track isnt stocked by SailRite or any other vendor that I have found.

Re: Hard dodger bolt rope track

Our hard dodger uses Plastic Awning track from BAINBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL, but it appears to be a little differant than yours.

There are 20 or so different companies that make them... Search the internet for PLASTIC AWNING TRACKS

Good luck!

Re: Hard dodger bolt rope track

I have searched and most everyone sells the same style of track.
You can buy it from SailRite.
The track in the photo is very different from all of those.

I purchased that kind of track from SailRite (nothing against them, great compant) but it wont make a compound bend. I have tried hot & boiling water, heat guns and hair dryers, it just wont do it. Evert time it kinks. I think the wall thickness isnt great enough to support the bend.

I have seen the track in the photo used in an application that requires a compound bend. Thats what I'm looking for.

Re: Hard Dodger Bolt Rope Track

I used an aluminum bolt rope track on one of my boats and it took a gentle compound curve OK. You might look at motor home suppliers or travel trailer suppliers. Many of them have awnings on the sides. Good Luck. ____Grant.

You could look at Rochford--

Awning Rail - Plastic, Automotive Misc, Automotive, Automotive Hog Rings, Awning Rail - Aluminum from Rochford Supply - Your Online Textile and Upholstery Superstore!

EDIT: I believe their stuff is from Bainbridge as was suggested above by Tom Jeremiason
