gelcoat color match
Our Prout is an "off white" sorta egg shell. A huge number of boats are. Question is what colors to add to white gelcoat to arrive a egg shell white? We understand you keep adding color very slowly and testing the color on the hull/deck but do we add red or black or yellow or brown or ??? Shudda been an art major.

There are gel coat kits on the market that have the necessary color pigments included. They also have a guideline of how to mix colors to match your gel coat.

Mini-Craft of Florida, Inc. has gelcoat matching for most production boats. lots of neat stuff too. Although I've not bought anything from them.

I used the DVD's from Bennet Marine to learn cosmetic gelcoat repair along with color matching. The link shows a 3 DVD set on cosmetic gelcoat and fiberglass repair but the third volume is redundant. One can buy individual volumes as well.

www.spectrumcolor.com out of Auburn Wash. If you decide to buy, they
have many manufacturers colors on file. Check there site. They did not have mine a few years back...My hull is beige...I sent them my anchor locker cover to match...which they did!

We were hoping to hear from someone that had actually matched an eggshell color and remembered what pigments they used. Google offers up a ton of commercial matching services. We were trying to avoid throwing a bunch of $ at this as it is a small repair.
