Distance between Head seacocks

I'm thinking of reorganizing the seacocks for my head amd was wondering if there is a rule of thumb for the required distance between the intake and the exit to prevent cross contamination.
Currently the intake runs from a seacock in the galley to the head which is around 8 ft aft. I have a spare seacock in the engine room which is about 2 foot forward of the head. Would it be a bad idea to use the engine room seacock for the intake?

Are you talking about the intake for the flush, or for a seawater tap?

Most production boats the intake for the flush is just a little forward of the outlet, perhaps as little as a foot but two would be more than enough. An inlet for a seawater tap I’d personally want a little further away than that, and perhaps that’s what your galley inlet was intended for?

Yes, the head inlet shares the same seacock as the galley seawater tap. I'm going to leave the sea water tap connected and intend to plumb the water maker into that seacock as well. But good that the separation for the new aaft head is enough.
