Cal 34 Paint And Varnish Questions.

So just yesterday I bought my Cal 34 and I want to touch some things up. Without knowing what types of paint or varnish that were used in the past is there a polishing cleaner wax that I can use on the topsides of the hull? I know it has been repainted in the last 5 years, but I don't know what kind of paint. Similar question with the varnish. I have no idea what type was used in the past and just want to touch up the current varnish(which isn't bad enough to require it all to be sanded off). next and final question. The interior is in pretty great shape except that the previous owner painted the interior walls with a latex paint. The winter wasn't kind to it and it is just about all flaking off in sheets. After I deal with removing all of that latex paint, I think I'll leave the paint under it. If it needs some paint on top, what could I safely apply that wont just flake off in a years time.

Re: cal 34 paint and varnish questions.

The top is all Interlux. The sides are the same. The entire bottom had an epoxy coat applied before the Racing Bronze bottom paint. The interior varnish was all Epiphanes and sprayed on so no brush marks.
The custom made Walnut mast support was coated in epoxy so it won't be compromised like the last one.
Everything was purchased from Jamestown so if you give me a few days I can get the exact color and paint formula for you.
That's a great boat, hull number 14 I believe. Lots of fun and for sure a conversation starter.

Wow! Thanks. I assume you were a previous owner then? She seems wonderful. I can't wait to clean her up and get out on the water.

Yes. I had it until last year. I'm surprised it was sold again. The guy seemed pretty excited about it. Stop by Great Lakes Glass in Green Bay someday. I've still got the jib pole you can have.
