Varnish/Paint Preserver
I just found a half-empty (half-full?) can of International BilgeKote that I figure has been in my bilge for at least five years. I fully expected it to be completely hardened and resigned myself to throwing it in the trash. However, when I opened the can, there was no hardening whatsoever albeit in bad need of stirring. I tribute this success (and lack of waste) to the fact that I used BLOXYGEN - an aerosol that sprays argon gas into cans of paint or varnish, displacing the oxygen and preserving whatever you haven't used.
The can feels empty even when full as the contents weigh just 12 grams. When we were in Australia, we got a good deal on 4-liter cans of olive oil and even though we use a lot of olive oil, 4-liters last us a long time. I've used the BLOXYGEN to keep the olive oil from going rancid. We bought ours from Downwind Marine Downwind Marine or it can be found at www.amazon.com. Highly recommended. I have no relationship to any of the companies mentioned
Fair winds and calm seas.
