34 Morgan Sloop needs mast step repair

I have a 34 foot Morgan Sloop. It’s mast step needs attention. I think it needs to be taken out and rebuilt. I think my friend and I could get most of the work done. Maybe use a crane to lift the mast out and have a rigger put everything back on. Does anyone know how much that would cost me? I’ve contacted a ship yard in Ensenada for a quote. I live in San Diego and the boat yards here seemed really pricy. It would be nice if I could have them do it all. I did send pictures of the mast to a boat yard in San Diego and he made it sound like it was something I can wait on. I’m not so confident. Any advice is appreciated! This is my first boat so I’m definitely a newbie.

I have a '71 Morgan 35. My mast step was rusted steel and I was concerned about it failing. I placed a few blocks of wood around it and filled under the step with concrete. I feel better now.
