Yanmar 2gm20f Fuel Feed Pump Gasket
On the fuel feed pump there is a gasket between the two pieces that go together (top and bottom). Is that gasket replaceable? Mine is leaking a little and in researching the part, there isn't one. the only gaskets I can find is the one between the engine and the pump and for the fuel lines.
Leeds me to wonder if you have to just replace the whole pump or can I just make my own gasket?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Looking at my service manual that includes 2GM20F, it appears the diaphram that is between the top and bottom may also function as the gasket. see attached.

Ahhh! I was looking for the wrong part then is what it sounds like.
Thanks for you post DD.
Wondering, is there a part number for that or does your manual have recommended method for replacement?
I only ask because when looking for a new diaphram I still can't find that either.
It looks like the only option is to replace the whole unit.

Chrimmeney. Learn to cut your own gaskets. Stop by an auto parts story and get the appropriate gasket paper or rubber or cork. Place a sheet on one of the two surfaces, and tap it with the round end of a ball peen hammer along the sharp edges. That cuts the paper. If you have trouble holding it, glue it to the part with rubber cement. It takes a little bit of practice, but then you no longer have to go through this find-a-part. Stock several types of paper and feel good about it.

A reasonable idea IF it is a gasket.
If the pump diaphragm, not sure I would suggest that.

Re: Yanmar 2gm20f Fuel Feed Pump Gasket
I actually replaced the diaphragm on a 3GM30 just to see if it could be done....it can but
“ the juice isn’t worth the squeeze”, I had to drill out the pivot pin plugs and modify a diaphragm to fit..... nope. Either just buy a new one or install an electric fuel pump.

No part number, but the reassembly instructions state: (4) Make sure the diaphragm hole is in the correct position and gently attach the diaphragm to the pump body. So sounds like it can be replaced, but I didn't find the part on the net either. You might check with your local Yanmar dealer. Or just replace the whole pump.

Re: Yanmar 2gm20f Fuel Feed Pump Gasket
It’s likely that the reference to aligning and attaching the diaphragm relates more to taking off and reinstalling the valve body to clean it rather than to replace the diaphragm. I’m always disappointed when a company adopts the “one time use policy”, especially Yanmar.

Re: Yanmar 2gm20f Fuel Feed Pump Gasket
The one time I needed to replace the diaphragm on my 3GM30 I had to buy the entire pump, they are not built to allow the diaphragm to be readily replaced.

Re: Yanmar 2gm20f Fuel Feed Pump Gasket
The more I look into this the more I am realizing that a whole part replacement is necessary in this case.
The replacement kits I have found have gaskets for the housing and hoses so seems like a good idea anyway to replace all the gaskets at one time.
Again, thanks for the comments.
