Which engines can replace a Volvo Penta MD11C

I too have a MD11C engine with a110S sail drive.i have rebuild the engine but will cost me 4K. I have an opportunity to buy a 11D rebuilt engine for less. Will it work wilth my 110S sail drive and will the 11D fit on the 11C mounts.
What sthe difference between a 11C and 11D engine? thanks
