Re: What is the following device?

Oh, I do indeed understand. You'll be amused to know that my first experience with lilla vackra Anna was at Liseberg, ca. 1954. That particular vackra Anna was from Borås :-)

My early sailing was out of Odense in Juniorbåde and Folkebåde.

I don't know how long we can get away with this. After all, as a moderator, I must be particularly careful not to break the rules, but since these songs are all about seafaring, I think we can do one more :-)!

So here is Brandelius again with a particular favourite of mine, to which we often danced back in those years. BTW Brandelius was very popular in Denmark during and just after Hitler's war.

As you say: Hard not to get a bit sniffly :-)

The 'black thing' mounted at the center of your fuel tank clean out is an old design WEMA brand fuel sender. It was a unique design, made of aluminium, with a float that operated vertically on a tube. I have seen many of them break and leak fuel. But only in power boat installations. The newest design WEMA sender functions the same and is all stainless construction and bullet proof.
