robertsapp; blow the area around the injectors with compressed air before you remove the injectors. Use a metal brush as well to loosen up what rust you can and blow again. It the injectors give you trouble soak the area in PB Blaster and let them sit for a few days then wipe up the area and try to remove the injectors again.

Most racors are to be used under vacume. The elec fuel pump should be after the filter. Check your model first.

I found this extract in the depths of the Yanmar 3GM30 Workshop Engine Manual;

"Aging, breakdown and cracking of Fuel pump diaphragm -
Since the diaphragm is constantly in motion, the cloth on its flexible parts becomes thin, cracked and sometimes breaks down after long periods of use. A broken diaphragm causes fuel oil leakage and fragments of the diaphragm often contaminate the engine oil...."

In my case at 750hrs (or 9 years) and fuel oil leakage = 3.5litres of gas oil in the sump!

(2) 3GM30s @ 9 years and ~1800 hours with original lift pump. I do carry a spare.

Well at least you'll know what to do when it starts blowing smoke.
My engine is 9 years old and has 3500 hrs.
Hmmm looks like and age issue not hours.

I think that the perforated diaphragm can also suck air into the fuel line, with engine oil, as well as squirting fuel back into the sump. Three sources of major engine running problems!

You might get one, two or three problems altogether, depending on the action of the tear, e.g., if its acting like a flapper valve it might only dump fuel into the sump, or if flapping in the other direction it might only suck oil and air into the fuel line. Little bugger of a thing!
