How to Know if a Volvo Penta D2-55 Engine Is a D2-55A, B, .., F ?

Hi all,

I am in the process of ordering spare parts for our Volvo Penta D2-55 engine. When looking for a new hose for the sea water pump, however, it appears that the hose exists in two versions: one for the D2-55A and D2-55B, and another version for the D2-55C, D, E and F.

How can I find out whether our engine is a D2-55A/B or C/D/E/F?

The product number of our engine is D868987; does this mean that the engine is a D2-55D?

I'm confused . Your ideas are very welcome...

Any ideas anyone? I've looked further in the documentation of the engine (and on the actual engine itself, of course) but there is no clue as to whether it is an A/B/C/D/E/F version of the D2-55 ... :-(

tomw,
There is usually a sticker on the engine that has the number on it.
Here is my VP number for a VP D1-30F engine.

What year is your boat?

The VP D2-55F engine is from 2008 to today

Thanks a lot for the information, Cotemar! I am not on board the vessel for the moment (which is in Malaysia right now) so I asked the current crew to check for the sticker. They finally got back to me. Unfortunately there is no such sticker. :-(

The boat and engine are from 2006.
