Engine comparison

Hello, I'm Pete and new to the group. Wondering if there's been any recent comparisons done on small diesels, 20hp-50hp range (Yanmar, Beta, Nanni, etc.).

I live in Queensland, Australia.

Welcome aboard CF, woopeter11.

Work your way through these CF threads (some old, some recent).

FWIW, there is a Google Custom Search feature the pull down search menu at the top right area of each CF page and it is a pretty good way of finding previous CF threads/ posts. For the above search I simply used the words yanmar beta

Also, what does FWIW mean?
Cheers,
Pete

Woopeter11 are you repowering your yacht? As a surveyor here in Queensland l see more Yanmar and Volvo diesel engines than any other brands.
Cheers

Hi Fore and Aft,
I'm currently in Canberra and will be travelling home to Gin Gin soon, then having a look around Gympie as we're looking at relocating there.
Are you still in the district?
I'm wanting to build a sailing cat from scratch so am beginning to look at options, e.g. engines.
All the best,
Pete

Once you start reading I think you’ll generally find the Beta owners the happiest of the bunch.

Who doesn’t love a red engine?
