Update on the Chinese engine mentioned by me earlier in this post. It's now installed and had its first test run. Smooth, with no rattles and everything appears fine. Sonds better than the Beata did more of a low pitch rumble which is less intrusive. You can balace a coffee cup on the rocker box even at tickover. Posibbly a combination of extra weight and 3cy instead of 4. Given that it was less than the price of a new short block for the beta for the complete engine gearbox combo I am we chuffed. Will be heading for Golfito this W/E, about 150miles so will post an update when I get there

Paint job finished! Really pleased how its turned out!!
Motor is in the boat...new shaft too! Mechanic is sorting out the engine bed as a few mods needed! Hopefully it should be sorted today!
