Barnacle Buster

Looking to do a bit of 'purging' on all of my raw water systems (2 diesels, gen set and A/C). Was looking at using barnacle buster - does anybody have any experience using this?

$66 per gallon for the concentrate that you dilute down at 4:1 - this could get a little expensive. The MSDS sheet specifies 85% phosphoric acid. Is this all that is in there - can I just buy the acid myself and dilute it down. Is ~20% concentration safe to run through my cooling system?

Wow!! I didn't realize it was so expensive. I looked for a chemical to clean my A/C condenser and went with PhosphoRic from Home Depot. It’s in the paint dept. and used for prepping masonry for painting. It was about $23.00. I believe it has the same concentration as BB as well as a detergent. I used it neat.
