Seawind 1160 Replacement Light Bulbs

Any other Seawind owners upgrade their light bulbs to LED? Looking at making the change but with so many options of which to buy it is hard to make a decision.

The two large berths and the salon.

Just looking at replacement bulbs not the entire fixture.

Doesn't have much to do with your brand of boat. Go to a site like marinebeam.com, review their tech data, find the bulbs that will fit your fixtures, order whatever floats your boat. And of course you can shop other sites to compare, too.

Aside from type (G4, wedge, bayonet, etc), size and color temperature are likely the deciding factors... aside from cost, of course.

Hint: ~2700°K is similar to incandescent lighting, often called "warm" white. ~3500°K+ is becoming more like bright outside daylight or flourescents, often called "bright" or "cool" white.

I considered bulbs only and then decided to replace the whole unit to reduce the hassle factor and have new everything.

They have arrived here in Singapore and appear to be "decent" construction.

Re: Seawind 1160 Replacement Light Bulbs

I replaced almost all my light on Double-Wide hull #003 with LED's. I found there was a big difference between the different LED manufacturers. I would suggest shopping where you can see what the bulb look like while in use. In the salon I replaced the entire fixture with new warm white LED's that gave the main living area a very nice yet bright light.

The big return was in the energy savings. The LED's made living aboard much easier with huge savings on amps used daily.

You will have to wait a while until EC stops lunching and letting the weather prohibit him from fitting them...........

Re: Seawind 1160 Replacement Light Bulbs

I have since sold the boat and do not have the info at hand but I bought some from Cruising Solutions and some from Dr LED. The best lights I bought from a marine supply store in Kemah Texas but do not remember the brand.
