Lagoon 500, 151 build since 2006, over 50 for sale !

In September 2012 the last Lagoon 500 (number 151) was launched. The model is build since 2006 so approx 30 a year.

Looking at Yachtworld no less then 54 Lagoon's 500 are for sale. Probably some doubles, but none the less 1 out of 3 is for sale.

Thoughts ?

Or is 30+% normal.

Charter boats ?

Yes the Charter guys turn them over. They like the 500 for charter, lots of room.

Quite a few charter boats in those listings and more than a few doubles. The typical charter program is 4 to 5 years. The top tier companies like newer boats so the older ones are phased out. I wouldn't use this statistic as a judgement on a good or bad boat.

What sand Crab said. They are mainly a charter boat, and you will get quite a few coming off charter around the same time, Its got little to do with good/bad and a lot to do with business models.

and also a niche product - both on high cost and limited purpose, drop a chunk on the market (of any niche item) and will take a little while for the market to absorb them - but it will.
