Re: I've gone and bought a cat

Uh... no one buys a cat. You just pick them up off the street corner. Feed them once and they never leave.

Thanks all for the kind words and encouragement.
With trembling hand will untie the lines tomorrow.

congratulations
I have been in Grenada for the last several years during hurricane season...it's a good place to be and it has a very active cruising community...cruising net is at 7:30am on Ch 66.

I had an Island Packet 350 and took it back to Florida and sold it about a year ago...then bought a L410 S2 owner's edition last November in Martinique (Le Marin)....took it to St Maartin and then to Grenada...then took visiting friends from Grenada to Martinique and back to Grenada a couple of times. Everybody is surprised at how well the cat handles even in high winds and seas and how comfortable it is. Selling the Island Packet and buying a cat was a good move for me...and I think you'll be happy sailing your Lipari. Cats are fast and comfortable...and my girlfriend loves this cat. And we do not reef until 22+kts.

I'm in Mt Hartman Bay (Secret Harbor)...the first cat you see on the left side of the harbor as you enter. Good cruising.

I notice people saying that you'll be motoring a lot. But we only motor going in and out of harbors and on the lee side of the large islands...windshadow effect.

Congrats Sundowners! Are you around Rodney Bay at all between Monday and Wednesday coming up? It's Carnival time in St. Lucia. We're there until Thursday.

Keep the cucumbers away. They find them terrifying.

Re: I've gone and bought a cat

Not sure I caught the name of the boat...we are in Prickly Bay and will be for about another week. We're in a 1994 Fountaine Pajot Venezia named Catchin' Rays.....you can't miss us...the name is on each side at the bow and about 7 feet long. Congrats on the purchase.
