It seems odd that the uphaul is at the front of the board rather than at the side in the middle where the CE is. Being at the front it will try to push the board to the back of the case increasing the friction.

Yes, it would seem an odd place to attach the uphaul but it is jiggling the daggerboard side to side not forward and aft that makes it easier to lift.

I am open to better ideas.
