Re: Catamaran hydraulic steering problem

I have an 03 Outremer with an all hydralic system the previous owner placed a reservoir well above the steering pump . If / when I need to bleed the system I open the bypass valves by each rudder and spin the the wheel in the same direction enough times for the air to come out . I also bleed at the cylinders

Re: Catamaran hydraulic steering problem

well, mr christian (aka my long-suffering wife debbie) and i worked on this today, and seems we have success !

locked stb rudder midships...open by pass valve...manually pulled port rudder into midships...closed by pass valve

tried hard over several times and all seems ok. obviously will keep close eye on it for a while (especially after any weather), but seems we might have success !

thanks to all for your input

cheers,
