200nm/day - What's it Really Take???

Our Sundeer does plane but we lower the main to prevent that and have more comfort at night. Only once, during a heavy squall just north of Grenada, we started planing without the main up, helped by a big wave. The boat did okay on autopilot all the way into the lee of the island. It was actually more comfortable while planing but the first 5 minutes we were in shock. Obviously, with a 384nm record they must have been planing continuously.
Edit: that Sundeer was Artemis and had a large crew aboard. Shorthanded is totally different.
