2003 Peter Brady 38ft opinions

Hi folks,

My partner & I (and doggo) intend upon purchasing a catamaran in the near future. We are currently interested in a Brady 38 and are finding it difficult to get much information about them at all.

Does anyone have any first hand cruising experience onboard this boat and could provide their postive/negative feedback? Is there anything in particular with this boat we should be looking out for during an initial inspection.

Any info much apprecited.

Thanks for your consideration.

Have a look at Peter Brady's website; pathfinderpowercats.com. He is usually quite contactable, and exceptionly knowlegeable about his boats.

Have not owned a Brady. Likely strip plank cedar core with epoxy glass laminate - so pretty robust hulls unless damaged and had water penetration at some time in its life. Check what decks are made of, if plywood with glass laminate or painted with 2 pack polyurethane check around all hatch hinges and stanchions for rain water ingress. Your surveyor should pick up these up and tap the hull for soundness. We had buddies that had a bigger Brady Sailing Cat - they loved it and had it for many years.

Peter Brady boats are mostly motor sailers. They usually have high topsides and are/were focussed on interior room. Fine if they want that sort of boat.

Cashy she looks ok in the photos, the bow modifications look a bit strange? Could be a good boat if the photos reflect the real condition of her.
Cheers
