Re: Wide Beam vs Narrow Beam

We recently got accepted into a Yacht club and there are wait lists for the slips. We are on the list for a smaller slip as they come available faster, then we will get on the slip we want and use this smaller boat in the meantime. The slip we are going to get can accommodate up to 35 ft max and a beam of 9' 6" max. The beam is killing me, can anyone suggest a sailboat that gives us the most comfort for that size? Used for Coastal Cruising and sleeping on after partying and entertaining at the yacht club.

Sounds like you are describing a CCA rule boat from back in the day, like a Hinckley Pilot 35: https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/pilot-35-hinckley/

But what are you thinking of when you say "comfort?" My little skinny old boat is not "comfortable" in terms of interior room bit she is in terms of her motion once sailing.

Check this list: most may be too small for you but there could be a couple of interest:

A couple more:
https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/vanguard-33-pearson/
https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/yankee-30-mki/

Get one of these classics and you'll be the hit of the yacht club!

Re: Wide Beam vs Narrow Beam

Will be much easier to find a boat with that beam if you go down in length. Like a Pearson 30.
