Why are boats so much cheaper in Europe?

When comparing at the EXACT same make/model, boats are always significantly cheaper and more to choose from when compared to North America.

Any ideas why?

Also, how difficult would it be to convert the 220v power to 110v so that it can be brought over to North America?

My plan would be to buy boats in Europe, sail them across the Atlantic and sell them in North America for a profit. Rinse and repeat until I am tired of doing it...
