Who pays for what? Is there a standard?

When buying or selling a sail boat is there a normal process or standard for who pays for what? Some are obvious and some are not. It's now coming to the end of hurricane season so assume your buying or selling and the boat is sitting on the hard and been there for several months. I know everything is negotiable, but is there a norm like with real estate?

1. Buyers broker?
2. Selling broker?
3. Is the split between those two 50/50?
4. The boat need sails set up for sea trial?
5. Surveyor?
6. Launch and Haul for Survey?
7. Getting batteries charged and ready?
8. Licensed Captain for the survey?
9. Fuel tank is empty?
10. Other?

I think 1, 2, and 4 are obvious. 1 and 2 come from the seller who pays the commission and 4 is paid by buyer. But the rest?

Re: Who pays for what? Is there a standard?

1. Buyers broker? Discuss with Buying Broker

2. Selling broker? Sellor

3. Is the split between those two 50/50? Discuss with Buying Broker

4. The boat need sails set up for sea trial? SELLOR

5. Surveyor? BUYOR

6. Launch and Haul for Survey? Discuss with Broker(s). The cost of storing on the hard typically includes a haul and launch. If the boat is launched and it remains in the water and you buy it, then the cost was paid by the sellor as part of storage. If you decide NOT to buy the boat, expect to be on the hook for the launch and subsequent haul along with any re-winterization costs.

7. Getting batteries charged and ready? SELLOR

8. Licensed Captain for the survey? BUYOR

9. Fuel tank is empty? Sellor, discuss with broker

10. Other? requires elaboration.
