When Buying a Hunter 28 in the H20

Hello Everyone. I am currently looking at a 1978 Hunter 30. It is in the water. I know I need a survey. However, what is the procedure? I realize I would pay to pull and survey. I don't know what the whole process is for buying. Help!!

Also, any knowledge of the Hunter 30 would be appreciated.

You make an offer. Owner counters. You make any adjustments or walk. Once you have both agreed on a price,typically you will pay a depoist to hold the boat off the market. You then have a grace period within which to make arrangements to have the boat hauled out, surveyed and sea trialed. If all goes well, you sign and own a boat. If there are issues you aren't happy with, you either renegotiate or cancel your contract.
