Sta-Lock Fittings

Cheers,

Would preventative maintenance of the lower shroud terminals indicate:

1) Leave alone if look good,
2) If corrosion, cut and reuse same fitting.
3) Go around tightening if possible.

Thanks and just wondering if anyone knows a way to change my screen name to reflect my present boat.

Depending on the condition you can just replace the wedges. You never recycle the wedges. You also should always use a sealant when assmebling the fittings. You don't want water collecting inside them. At that point they need no servicing until you need to replace the wire. if you see corrosion my guess would be the wire needs to be replaced too.

Your screen name is yours for keeps. You can fill in your boat information and it will appear in your information like you see for so many others.

Aloha Richard,
When looking on the internet for cones make certain you spell it Sta lok. Sta-lock might not get you what you want.

Thanks, well appreciated...The upper shroud terminals are Gibb T-balls (1981, old style) that are machine swaged. Not much DIY there I think.
