Planing on buying a boat

Ahoy sailors!!
Im thinking of buying this boat https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/919575015676326/?mibextid=dXMIcH.

Im trying to get some info about the boat but all the internet sais petersons were built in mid 70's...

And a boat like this can do big crossings lets say sailing from australia to south pacific islands?

Re: Planing on buying a boat

JM the rigging will probably cost another $4000-6000 to replace. So, you might want to negotiate that of the purchase price. I don't see why she can't cross oceans. Nice draft, modest beam, and the Peterson 30 I surveyed below was well built. If you click on the sailboat data link and then the definitions link you will see she rates ok.
Cheers

JM just remember love is blind. Often, I end up doing two surveys for customers who sound exactly like you. The first survey is just a slap in the face when the buyer realises in all the excitement, they missed that the yacht is actually a heap of junk. Then the second survey is on a boat where the rose-coloured glasses have been removed.
Where will you keep the boat?
Cheers

Hi mate, yeah im a commercial skipper for the past eight years and i know how sellers selling lovely boats become as a nightmare. And I saw hundreds of boats from in and out so yeah... Im super peaky for what to choose.

And as a start ill keep it at Cairns, and after the fishing season ill go south.
