O'Day 22 - What to Look for?

what r the problems i should look for when buying a 1970s oday 22 this will be my first sail boat so i need all the help i can get im going to look at it this weekend and cant wait to get in to the sailing world not just reading about it lol .thanks in advance

Moisture in the hull and deck could be a problem with a boat that old. Do they have a current survey? if not it might be worth it to get one. I bought a 40' O'Day last fall, and because of the survey I knew there were problems that needed to be addressed. As a result I ended up paying $15,000 less that what they wanted and had the work done over the winter. Spent about the same ammount of money in the end, but have a boat with a tight hull.
