Re: Luxury Items

This one is a Magnum 2812, 2800 W inverter which I have no use for anything that big as it will pull 300+ amps at max tilt and would chew through my 660 AH bank in an hour, but hopefully at 1/10 max or less it will stay cool and quiet.
I got the big one for the 125 Amp battery charger to maximize the usefulness of an AGM bank, but geez this thing is a Monster, I thought until I saw it I might put it behind the Settee, clearly not now, it's going to have to go under the chart table.

Re: Luxury Items

i keep wanting to use my hairdryer the thing is though it'd chew through a power station just to get it working properly - it only needs 2000W constant for 10minutes but am scared about the rest of the electrics on board not getting fed !!!!!!!

a genny would be nice but again too much weight and shore power sockets are amazing and a washing machine would be out of this world but again that got ditched cos of the weight of it

this is what happens when you buy a sled - you make a list of everything that would really make life comfy - poss too comfy - and then you go through the list writing weights next to everything and then ditching nearly everything on the list cos it would slow the sled down too much !!!!!!!

for me a proper pilot berth bunk would be fantastic some of us are just getting to the point where we just about need a proper bunk and less of the swinging hammock that currently sits in my cabin stretched between lower mast and the space frame that i had put in to make her more rigid

Not for a lot of people, unless you consider having a home at all a "luxury". Some of the boats talked about around here do sound like they are pretty luxurious though.

Re: Luxury Items

Of course owning a home could also be viewed as a luxury as the majority will not ever own a home. I of course am only able to speak from own point of view and yes I also own a beautiful home. The boat is most definitely a luxury...both of themin fact.

Re: Luxury Items

All Clad pots and pans, really sharp Global knives, good glassware for the marina. A really nicely hand-stitched ensign. Induction charged chic lanterns for the cockpit.

Makes us feel less like we are camping!
