John Seegel?

Has anyone ever heard of a designer by the name of John Seegel?

The listing is very sloppy, and I expect there is a spelling mistake in the last name.

I'm curious what people know about these boats. We are looking at one this weekend and it looks great so far.

Big, scary loan time. Hopefully we won't be stuck in corporate america for too long paying it off...

Exactly....

That's the only one I've ever seen and I'm going to see it on Sunday. I was wondering if anyone else had heard of it.

(PLEASE don't go buy it out from under me, anyone!! )

Sean:
The pictured boat has a lot of openings (leaks?) in the hull. Inspect carefully!

Yes... looking at it with suspicion...

Thanks for the input, Gord.

I will be looking at it with a lot of suspicion. I especially don't like the treated teak decks. Luckily, it's supposed to rain like crazy here tomorrow and Sunday, so the weather is in my favor.

I will have as tough a surveyor as I can survey this boat if it meets my minimum requirements. One thing I did like was the attention to detail in building out the interior, and the lack of use.

Anyway, I suppose I'll post on my findings to keep the thread going on the John Seegel next week.

Rain

I didn't visit. The broker wouldn't show it to me when it was raining, so I had to assume there was some kind of issue with leaks (as Gord suggested).

I am passing that one by based on the broker being so insistant that it doesn't show when it's raining.
