Wants walk through transom, not canoe stern. Crealock would be great choice, but would be a ladder down the side into the dink with the dog.

Re: cruising boat with walk thru transom

Sail with 2 large dogs 60lbs , high sided vessel , use fender steps and fenders to create a step up and down systyem and padded tender seat for them to jump on.
People feel the neeedthat the dog needs to go of the transom so they can swim ,me I prefer to take my Dogs for a good walk like mother nature intented ,and then they can swim off the foreshore, just finished 4 weeks with them no issues.
Do not get tied down choosing a boat for a dog no matter how much you love them, (I love my 2 like I love my little Girl) but a boat is for sailing for humans and must be bought for those reasons .
But it is your money as I always say , were here just to give an opinion

There are too many boats to list which fit that criteria.

Re: cruising boat with walk thru transom

Recommend as an alternative the use of standard floating dog ladder / ramp to ease access by your dog. Many designs and styles available online which are useful for going to and from your dinghy or just to allow a swimming platform and some ladders and ramps work very well for easing access by people too. Not too many Cats are keen on them though.

Most of the "modern" aft cockpit production boats

Gizzard. I don’t know what i was thinking. The Gozzard in our home port has a drop-down transom.

Re: cruising boat with walk thru transom

Check out the Mapleleafs. Cool design, and sea worthy.
We have a 45 lb dog and no walk thru transom and it’s fine. With no walk through, Ensure your dinghy has a step on the front so the dogs have a landing place while jumping in/down.
