Cruiser's University- Annapolis

Has anyone ever attended this? I wasn't aware of this program until I received an email today. I'd love a review if anyone has attended.

Yes, it was great! Covered a lot of topics.... some speakers were better than others but they covered a lot of ground. Unlike most classrooms, the people teaching have actually done what they are teaching. My wife was especially happy with the program - she did the women and cruising program - as she was able to associate well with the other females just starting out.

I took the basic marine diesel class and it helped a lot. I use those skills everyday.

We loved it! Lot's of great information, but the best part was the small class size. We got to talk to the speakers like Ralph Naranjo frequently during the conferences. We stayed on site, which was nice, too.

I was feeling bad because we weren't able to go to Miami this year for the boat show.. but I think this will be an awesome alternative.

At the cruiser's university, the have an IMAX theater that actually is a mock up of a 100 ton container ship, and you get a chance to "helm" this big boat to get a feel of what it is like for them trying to avoid us. The lessons I learned there, saved us a collision sailing into st. Lucia in Rodney Bay.
They also have an on site bar (it's small, but the whiskey tastes just as good).

Well.. they have 1, 2 and 3 days. The 1 day is $190 USD, 2 day is $360 USD, 3 day's is $450 USD. And then they also have Master's university which is about $600 USD.

I know airfare into BWI is one of the cheapest airports to fly into, in the country, so I doubt airfare would be much, depending on where you are flying in from. When we went there for the Boat show in October, we ended up staying at the airport, and drove to Annapolis everyday. It was about 30-40 minute drive, and we saved tons of money, because the hotels in Annapolis are pretty expensive.

I think the university is priced reasonably.
