Hi All,

Has anyone here ever owned or crewed on one of these? If so, what was your impression?

I know,... you're asking yourself if I could possibly be more vague. I got one very inexpensively and before I put out money on a survey, I'd like to know if it's a dog no matter what I do to fix it up.

Columbia had (has?) a good name but the internet seems a little shy on info on the MK l.

FYI, the original Columbia 26 was simply that, a Columbia 26 (or, C-26). I owned hull no. 52 back in the 90s and loved it. Rock solid S.O.B. that was over built and tracked like it was on rails eith it's cutaway, semi-full keel.

Where did you find the hull number?

I've looked around the mast/compression post area, in lockers and everywhere else I can think of.

Hi Frank,

I was lucky in that, besides the 30 on the original mainsail, there's a bronze plate were the rudder post passes through the cockpit. As you can see, the plaque doesn't even say Columbia — as I understand it, they changed there name from Glastron Plastics to Columbia that year!

Oh, and I've discovered the sailboat's original name, Pandora, on the CYOA website.
