Don't forget when making offers in
boats that the asking
price is often set by the
broker with high hopes. Now I don't buy the types of
boats you're looking at. I for some reason enjoy the
work, and this means boats on the cheaper end. I usually start negotiations depending on the condition in the 30-40% asking
price range. I'm happy if we end up in the 50-60% range in the end.
So don't be afraid to offer $35k on that $50k
boat. You never know they might just take it!
