Re: Best RIB?

A lot of folks like rigid hulls, but if I were shopping I’d check out the latest with inflatable floors. They are pretty rigid now and give you the option of rolling up the whole boat and stowing it on the foredeck or something if needed.
Though if you have more money I’ve seen some pretty good hypalon models, with aluminum floors, that can be rolled up too. Hypalon should last a lot longer.

Re: Best RIB?

I just bought an A/B 8.5 with a 6hp engine. I wanted a rigid floor because it's easier to step onto, and we have gravelly beaches in the PNW. This should last me years with good care. https://www.abinflatables.com/

Re: Best RIB?

I've never understood threads such as this with people recommending Hypalon dinghies. I understand hypalon was discontinued by Du Pont a decade and a half ago. And so anything with that trade name would be breaching a trade mark.

wikipedia link
Some other supporting link

Can someone please enlighten me, thanks.

I don't know, but there are boats marketed as hypalon, and it does say this in Wikipedia:
"Hypalon as it is now known in the marine industry today is a remarketed version of the old Hypalon using an additional layer of neoprene (cr) so the new chemical formulation is csm/cr."

Perhaps I am wrong to assume it is as durable as the original.
