Beneteau Cyclades 43.3 sling marks

I'm looking for a reference for sling mark on a Beneteau Cyclades 43.3.
I have some marks on the boat now, but the aft sling marks in at the second last port window, which seems almost just aft of the keel.

The boat has been lifted that way many times, however the last surveyor said the aft sling mark should be more aft near the engine, which was done yesterday. We then I noticed a small gap appeared at the aft keel joint, far from the keel bolts. The keel joint looked perfect, except for a 2 inch section, which may be why the aft lifting strap needed to be closer to the aft of keel as not to get the banana effect.

I regret listening to this surveyor, and should have used the old markings.
This surveyor now thinks the keel has issues.

I think a little gflex epoxy would fix this up, and then continue using the old sling marks.

We also lifted the boat wrong. I looked at some old sling pictures, and it needs to be lifted from the sling marks that are on the boat, otherwise the boat flexes, opening up this gap.

BALLAST / ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON KEEL TO HULL JOINT
Visually inspect the keel to hull joint. It is not uncommon to have a small (1/8") gap at the front and rear seam of the keel to deck joint. This is caused by the keel having a flat top and the hull having a rounded shape. The gap should be cleaned with mineral spirits, allowed to dry and filled with 3-M 5200 Marine Adhesive.

Haha. Fine marketing lingo!


This is caused, in fact, by designing and building a boat that bends.

Sure place the slings where they are less destructive next time.
