Anyone else have a Spindrift or Formasa 44?

I don't expect to be flooded with replies as I understand they only made 60 of these at the Formosa yard in Taiwan, but I was hoping to connect with anyone who has one. It would be nice to have a sounding board to bounce questions or ideas off of, or to share experiences with.

Coming from the robust and vibrant Beneteau and Catalina communities, I'm feeling like a bit of a free radical floating out in the ether!

I was really impressed with the fact that it was a purpose-built ocean-capable boat, but it wasn't really until after I closed on it that I realized just how much boat it is!! I've owned boats this size before, but never one with such robust systems.

Re: Anyone else have a Spindrift or Formasa 44?

Thanks for the response! There are a lot of pretty similar characteristics with the KP44, but the Spindrift 43/Formossa 44 are canoe-sterns with bowsprits and a full length keel. I had a friend with a KP44 years back, and they also had the robust build quality my new (to me) tank has.

I may never link up with another owner, and at the end of the day a boat is just a system of systems, so I'm sure I'll find enough information here to keep it right side up, but it would be cool to see what others have done with theirs.

Thanks again for the input!
