Hi Y'all
I am 33 years old and currently live in Arlington, Virginia. I have a wife, two cats, and a house that needs enough
work to make me question whether I really need to add a
boat to the list of
maintenance needs.
Last year I did my Yachtmaster
Offshore in
Gibraltar, and
ASA Bareboat, in the Grenadines; haven't been cruising since, though, and know I'm getting a bit rusty.
I'm not entirely sure what my schedule will allow at this point, but I'm wondering if anybody needs crew for relatively short term cruises. Between Mid-October and New Years, I could make myself available pretty much anywhere on the
east coast for no more than about a week at a time.
After New Year's I am looking to spend about a month as crew either January, February, or March, pretty much anywhere in North America or the
Caribbean. I am Open to the idea of doing an
ocean crossing, but it would be my first.
I've been contemplating
buying my own
boat (30-40ft) for sometime, which, I mostly intend to sail singlehanded. However, I would like to get reacquainted with coastal
navigation,
docking techniques, and general seamanship with a knowledgeable
skipper before I decide to go out on my own.
Send me a message or reply if you think you might have need of me, or just to say hi. I'm always happy to meet new people, and as much as I love sailing I don't yet have a
family or group of friends that has much passion for it.
Cheers,
Eric
