Re: Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Okinawa, South Korea
Saw your ad. I am looking for an interesting sail for Jan & Feb. I sold my 47 ft last year & no want to go for a sail. I have a masters lic & over 100,000 offshore miles mostly single handed & would make a good crew member for the right trip.

Re: Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Okinawa, South Korea
Hi guys!
I'm a 26 years old guy from Spain. I'm traveling overland from Barcelona to Shanghai, currently in Thailand. I will be in December in Vietnam (HoChi Min). If you are around, I would love to help you out. I don't have a lot of experience sailing but I do cleaning, singing and staying positive. =) Send me an email or message anytime.
Regards,

Re: Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Okinawa, South Korea
Hi, I am interested! I recently sold my 32ft yacht after 15 years coastal cruising in NZ, and am now trying to acquire offshore experience, with a longer term goal of heading off in 18 months or so to go bluewater cruising with my wife. PM me if a berth is still vacant.
Cheers
Rob

Be interested to know how you plan on sailing through Vietnam seeing as they don't allow cruising yachts to play there.

Seriously? Did you know that few weeks ago there was a offshore race Volvo HK to Vietnam race? I plan to sail via Nha Trang like everyone else sail for many years.

That will be an interesting trip sailingmaster, but I question your seasonal timing?
The NE Monsoon will bring the strongest Northerlies during that period in fairly shallow waters and square seas
If possible, I would recommend delaying until April when you are getting a bit more variables.
Good luck either way and please let us know how a solo yacht transiting Cambodia and Vietnam, is being treated these days.
I will be in Hoi An over Xmas and researching bringing my own boat over there from the Philippines if not too restrictive.

I thought about April, you are right about wind, but I was sailing from Korea to Cambodia during june-august with strong straight wind, boat is ready for sailing offshore not only downwind. I could give you contact in Marina Oceania in Cambodia and also new marina in Nha Trang.

Thanks, it would be great to have those contacts.
From Mid to late June on, China Sea gets local effects from beginning of Typhoon season so early April to mid June is the sweet spot for making your way North (plus you get to see the Cherry Blossoms
