Don't know where that is coming from. We have been in Mexico for 3 years using Navionics and have anchored many times in marked anchorages on Espirito Santo and Isla Partida. Both are listed in the cruising guides also.

Espiritu Santo anchorages” ➥ https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...es-251595.html

“Espiritu Santo and Partida Islands” ➥ https://svsonrisa.com/2021/11/espiri...rtida-islands/

“El Candelero – Isla Espiritu Santo” ➥ https://onlinecruisingguide.com/list...spiritu-santo/

FWIW: One, typically, doesn’t anchor “on” an island - but, more usually, nearby them.

My Navionics charts show no anchoring near both islands and the anchorage reviews imply its true as well. You've been there this year? Which anchorages specifically if you don't mind me asking? It looks like a great place to spend some time.

Maybe he means Todo Dantos near Ensenada
Isla Todo Santos
Horrible place to anchor abalone pens all along the south side. The recommended anchorage is the size of a swimming pool. Iwas 20’ from the fish pen and 100’ on three sides by rock cliffs. Couldnt get my anchor unstuck from their ground tackle. I kayaked over to the workers and they sent a diver right away

Re: Is There Really No Anchoring on Isla Espirito Santo?

I believe no anchoring (i) Bahia San Gabriel ("Gabby Bay") and (ii) the north part of Playa Bonanza (and, of course, not at Islotes).

Club Cruceros de la Paz website suggests (2022) anchoring IS allowed, provided each person has a park pass. PERHAPS Navionics indicating "no anchoring" for those without a pass. (We purchased annual passes).

Be good to get on-the-spot confirmation.
